ARE YOU wondering how past RIVIERA guests have reacted to their experience at the villa?
At this point you may be reeling from the "heavy" details in our Terms and Conditions and Security statements. Well, it's time to relax again, especially when you realize that NO seller of accommodation services actually escapes dealing with those "heavy" details; but we have, unlike most, put them right in front of you rather than hiding them away. (As Americans are wont to say, we "let it all hang out" so that those who don't want to face these things can move on to other sellers that are only too happy to hide them away to the extent possible.)
Here's what Ed. and Phyllis Hildebrandt of Gruntal, Manitoba, have written: "For our expectations as a family, Riviera is ideal. The Riviera offers security for our children. The grounds are well protected. We experience a safe feeling. For us the location is ideal. We like the ocean front with the private beach area, and the children enjoy the pool. The pool and the beach are near to each other. The Riviera staff makes us feel like family. Going back for the fourth time is like going home. The staff is friendly, provides excellent hospitality and they take care of the little things. They are flexible and they provide excellent cuisine."
Roger and Marcelle Besner of Montreal add that "the staff of Riviera villa was extremely discrete in every way, totally congenial, and extremely helpful in directing us in and around Ocho Rios or the island for shopping, reservations, sight-seeing, etc. They are very much part of the wonderful memories we all have of Riviera Villa."
Barb and Everett Doupe of Port Perry, Ontario, remember their visit to Riviera in this way: "Vacationing at Riviera was home away from home. Helpful, pleasing, courteous and conscientious staff made our vacation most fulfilling. The home-cooked meals of your choice, with the cook's added delicacies, were delicious and most palatable. The clean villa and sparkling pool maintained by the gardener were most refreshing. It was interesting to walk over the well-groomed yard with tropical foliage and fruit trees."

As we emphasize elsewhere in our comments, you WILL find newer villas everywhere (RIVIERA VILLA was built in the late 1940s, and has been subject to periodic upgrading of its facilities) . These newer villas feature an impresive array of expensive furniture (which we avoid at RIVIERA VILLA) and gadgetry. They fill the pages of travel magazines! You will also find nicer beaches in Negril, several hours drive from RIVIERA VILLA. But, with regard to CARING and THOUGHTFUL staff who are anxious to give you the warm personal recogntion so important to your sense of comfort in a foreign land, that is another story. That's the FEATURE of the RIVIERA story. We can only assure you that the further you go away from a carefully organized family-run business, the less likely you are to find this PERSONAL TOUCH that is so important to many frequent travellers.
